ENTROPY

With so much of mayhem and the humanitarian crises over the past few months, I just happened to wonder about the relative ease of destruction, and the hardships of creation...

The process they say is all related to "Entropy." A term in thermodynamics, entropy is a measure of the quality of unused energy in a system. Lower the entropy, the higher the quality. Energy stored in a carefully ordered way, eg. ice, has lower entropy than it's melted water. Being a measure of disorder, it explains why life seems to get more complicated with passage of time...

Murphy's Law states -
“Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.”

And entropy is akin to Murphy's Law applied to the whole universe. Meaning things could preferentially go wrong than right with relative ease. Simply a law of probability. Disordered states outnumber the ordered ones...

We all have experienced the tendency of life to be inherently difficult, problems arising easily while solutions consume our energy and time. We need to pay unwavering attention to ensure that our lives are always in order and uncomplicated...

It is said that the universe also naturally slides toward disorder. It needs volitional efforts and energy to ensure stability, be it a home, workplace, relationship, team etc., the lack of which would cause gradual decay...

It is so easy to destroy things, animate or inanimate, than to construct them. Because creation is specific, while destruction is non-specific...

Creation requires imagination, to build something in a specific way. Destruction is just to alter the current state of being into just any other disorganized state, without any specificity...

Which brings me back to the mindset of an aggressor, who goes about on a destruction spree. We find it so difficult to mend a even a small broken toy, and be sad about it as well, and here we witness vast expanses of land on the surface of Mother Earth being reduced to rubble...

Karma is a tough and unforgiving taskmaster...
