World Asteroid Day marks Earth's biggest tryst with an asteroid – the Siberia Tunguska blast on June 30, 1908. However, it is to the credit of 51 Degrees North, the 2014 sci-fi thriller's scientific creative team who formed a foundation in 2015 to celebrate the world’s first International Asteroid Day, which was duly taken notice of, and ratified by the UN in 2016...
 
"Mashable" began the World Social Media Day in 2010. SM has almost become a household necessity these days, for communication, news, shopping, business and entertainment,  so much so that both it's popularity and scrutiny have been running pari passu...

From Andrew Weinreich's Sixdegrees in 1997, Friendster in 2002, LinkedIn in 2003, MySpace and Facebook in 2004, YouTube in 2005, Twitter in 2006, Instagram in 2010, Snapchat in 2011, WhatsApp in 2014 and TikTok in 2016 to the latest Twitch and Discord, we all have come a long way...

The International Day of Parliamentarism is observed by the UNGA vide it's resolution in 2018, commemorating the establishment of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) this day in 1889. The endeavour is to bring together various parliaments in terms of accountability, transparency, peace and human rights along with global interactions...

National Handshake Day, National OOTD Day, National Work From Home Day, National Corvette Day, National Bomb Pop Day are the others to name a few. Not too sure if I have exhausted the list... 🙂

WORLD BRAIN DAY

22nd of July is observed as World Brain Day since 2014. The day was chosen during the 21st World Congress of Neurology held in Vienna on September 22, 2013 under the aegis of World Federation of Neurology, which incidentally was also formed on 22 July, in 1957... The day aims to educate people regarding brain health, to help people afflicted with neurological disorders, and to the furtherance of research and advances in therapies and prevention... INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
