LUCK ACQUISITION


There is a general concept that 'luck' is just a chance, synonymous with 'fluke.' Though both broadly mean the same, fluke is usually used for a single incident or countable incidents, whereas luck is something of a good fortune that is rather persistent and uncountable...

So then, according to Roman philosopher Seneca, it is we who make our own luck, so to speak. Just as the saying 'fortune favours the brave' goes, one could also add 'luck is attracted to those prepared.'...

Just as thirst is important for water to demonstrate it's beautiful property of quenching the former, opportunity requires a good measure of desire and ambition for it to meet preparation before being recognized as a lucky charm...

Does working hard always ensure favourable results? Not necessarily perhaps. Actually it is preparedness and planning that in more ways than one lead us to good fortunes...

There could be times when one feels the entire world conspiring, with just obstacles discernible till the perceptible horizons. It is quite natural...

Persistently expanding one's concepts and perspectives, knowing one's compatriots, learning to think out of the box and listening to intuitions, keeping abreast with the current scheme of things, applying one's knowledge judiciously, and maximizing opportunities by getting out of one's comfort zone perhaps form the list of basic essentials needed for preparation to make use of an opportunity and change the tides in one's favour...
