BEING RESPONSIBLE

Writer and aviator Anne Morrow Lindbergh, wife of the illustrious Charles Lindbergh with whom she had made many exploratory flights, once said -
"I do not believe that sheer suffering teaches. If suffering alone taught, all the world would be wise, since everyone suffers. To suffering must be added mourning, understanding, patience, love, openness and the willingness to remain vulnerable. All these and other factors combined, if the circumstances are right, can teach and can lead to rebirth."

I have no intentions to - nor qualified enough - talk about the last word of the above quote. Her words however set my thoughts in motion of the various happenings ever since the second month of the current calendar year, which continues to cut across oceans and continents, as things stand quite precariously, if I may say so...

To err is human, but then so is learning from them human as well. Which in essence translates to 'becoming wiser so as not to repeat them (mistakes) as far as possible.'

Change being the only constant, it is again demonstration of wisdom to embrace it rather than rest on past laurels or brood over bygone times...

Come what may, you've got to get up, dress well and go to work, every morning, and perform to the best of your abilities. You will certainly have your blue days, but purple ones shouldn't be far either. Armed with this knowledge, mixing work and play to accomplish something useful and valuable for yourself, and helpful and joyful for others should be the key...

I have always been a steadfast subscriber of the view, just on the lines of the quote above, that if anger, hate and confrontations were capable of solving issues then the world would have already been the most peaceful of places...
