GERMAN UNITY DAY

3rd of October is observed as German Unity Day, the day of German reunification in 1990 when FRG (West Germany) and GDR (East Germany) were unified after 45 years since 1945...

The third in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, today Germany is a member of several organisations - the UN, the EU, NATO, the Council of Europe, the G7, the G20 and the OECD...

Though the the Berlin Wall gave way on 9 November 1989, coinciding with the anniversary of the German Republic in 1918 and the defeat of Hitler's first coup in 1923, the day wasn't deemed apt since 9 November was also the anniversary of the first Nazi anti-Jew pogrom in 1938...

WORLD BRAIN DAY

22nd of July is observed as World Brain Day since 2014. The day was chosen during the 21st World Congress of Neurology held in Vienna on September 22, 2013 under the aegis of World Federation of Neurology, which incidentally was also formed on 22 July, in 1957... INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
