WIKILEAKS LAUNCH


The Australian 'hactivist' and self-proclaimed whistle-blower, Julian Paul Assange is credited to have founded WikiLeaks, with it's proceedings supposed to have begun through it's website by Sunshine Press in Iceland, this day, 2006...

WikiLeaks claims itself to be an international non-profit organisation, composed of journalists, political activists, company technologists, advocacy group, public intelligence agency etc., taking the 'responsibility' of publishing news leaks and classified media from anonymous sources...

It came to international attention in 2010 when it published a series of leaks provided by U.S. Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning. WikiLeaks proclaimed in 2015 to have revealed around 10 million documents by it's first decade...

Prominent releases ranged from serious violations of human rights and civil liberties, Afghanistan war logistics, U.S. prison manual at Guantanamo Bay, Collateral Murder and Iraq War Logs, to the 2016 US presidential election campaigns in addition to various spying operations worldwide...

WikiLeaks' secure chat reportedly got closed in October 2021 and their submission system and email server too since February 2022...

After several legal quagmires including the 7-year Ecuadorean asylum, founder Julian Paul Assange was arrested in the UK on 11 April 2019, and confined to a category A prison, Belmarsh, London...

In view of privacy violations and inadequate content perusal, the organization has perhaps been found wanting in the realms of both integrity and intellectual appeal...

The day was chosen during the 21st World Congress of Neurology held in Vienna on September 22, 2013 under the aegis of World Federation of Neurology, which incidentally was also formed on 22 July, in 1957... INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
