WORLD KINDNESS DAY



With trolling on with ease and scant respect on social media, kindness is becoming a rarity these days. Would like to share a story, apt for this day, sent by a friend of mine...

[ While walking towards home, I saw a paper fixed on an electric pole on which was written: 

Please read -
"I have lost a 50 Rupee note yesterday on this road. I can't see properly. Whoever can find it please give it to this address."


I couldn't fathom the intense desire to go to that address, a house at the end of that street. Reaching it I knocked on the door. An old lady came out slowly with the help of a stick. I realized that she lived alone, and apparently did have problems with vision too. 

"Mother," I said - "I have found your lost 50 Rupee note, and I have come to give it to you."


Hearing this, the old lady started crying. "Son, so far about 50-60 people have given me a 50 Rupee note each. I am not educated."


Reluctant to keep the money, the lady finally agreed at my insistence. But she requested me,

"Son, I have not written that note. Somebody must have done it out of pity on me and my condition. Please remove it on your way back home, son."


I just nodded to please her, but I realized that no one had removed it till then. She must have said the same thing to all the previous 50-60 people, but the paper still remained fixed to the pole.


My heart was filled with gratitude towards that person who first fixed the paper to the pole, thus finding a way to serve the old lady. There are many ways to help, but this kind of service touched my heart.


I did not remove that paper. Why break the chain of such an effortless good work? There are many ways to help, only there should be a strong desire and passion to do so. But that unknown selfless person who began this all, must have been a real divine soul as well. ]

The beauty of some acts of goodness and kindness increases manifold when there do not exist witnesses except God and your conscience.

The day was chosen during the 21st World Congress of Neurology held in Vienna on September 22, 2013 under the aegis of World Federation of Neurology, which incidentally was also formed on 22 July, in 1957... INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis..
