While his tenure has been regarded as Philippines' Golden Years which saw innumerable pro-people socio-economic projects and reforms, Magsaysay had his share of detractors too over period of time. Nevertheless he remained extremely popular with a well-deserved reputation for moral rectitude...

Magsaysay was the recipient of the Order of the White Elephant from the government of Thailand, and the Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Cambodia from the government of Cambodia...

Magsaysay passed away in an air mishap over Mt. Manunggal in Cebu, this day, in 1957, at the tender age of 49. On March 17 1958 he was awarded the Golden Heart Presidential Award and the titles of "Champion of the Masses" and "Defender of Democracy", posthumously...

The Ramon Magsaysay Award was instituted in his memory to honour individuals and organizations for selfless service to the peoples of Asian nations, cutting across race, gender, religious or political barriers, something that was so close to heart of the departed leader. The annually ceremony is held in Manila on August 31st, the birth anniversary of the esteemed President...

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis..
