One of the finest writers and journalists India has ever had, the multifaceted personality Khushwant Singh, born Khushal Singh, was in addition a lawyer, diplomat, historian, editor, politician etc. who left an indelible mark on people with his inimitable wit and humour...

A staunch and fearless voice in defence of secularism and against religious fundamentalism, Khushwant Singh entertained all, without sparing anyone, without regrets or conceit...

Though hated by his community for his father’s testimony against Shaheed Bhagat Singh, for supporting the emergency and for jokes on the turbaned, Khushwant Singh's concepts of loving and liking were crystal clear, without any qualms of calling a spade a spade...

The 'Dirty Old Man Of Delhi', as he was known in a lighter vein, the author of innumerable books and articles during the course of his 99 years, Khushwant Singh was supposed to have penned several epitaphs and obituaries for himself...

The novelist, columnist, short-story writer, translator, chronicler, agnostic, Khushwant Singh who never took himself or anyone else seriously, passed away this day, 2014, due to natural causes at his Delhi residence. He was given a burial as per his wishes the same day...

Waste not your tears on him, he was a sod;
Writing nasty things he regarded as great fun;
Thank the Lord he is dead, this son of a gun.” ...

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis..
