OPERATION GERONIMO

Once again, just like the 30th of April, my thoughts were as to how should I be writing this? In remembrance of a person whose reputation wasn't necessarily for the right reasons. But then history remains unerasable, and so does the name of Riyadh born Osama Bin Laden of Yemeni-Syrian parentage...

Evil incarnate to quite a few and a hero to others, the planet's once most wanted, OBL supposedly threw comfort zones out the window to rally the Arab world against the West, a scenario that probably existed even prior to his birth...

A member of the Afghani resistance during the USSR's 1979 invasion, OBL's Al Qaeda hit the West worst on September 11, 2001. It was this day in 2011 that President Barack Obama announced OBL's fatal waterloo in Abbottabad, Pakistan...

OBL rose, and he fell. A wealthy son, a reasonably good family man, a motivated commander, terrorist, fugitive, and perhaps an unsuccessful fanatic...

And though seemingly forlorn and away from the real arena of activity during his last days, with the greying personality watching footages of himself, OBL's ideology, of religion-inspired geopolitical ambitions, still lives...

WORLD BRAIN DAY

22nd of July is observed as World Brain Day since 2014. The day was chosen during the 21st World Congress of Neurology held in Vienna on September 22, 2013 under the aegis of World Federation of Neurology, which incidentally was also formed on 22 July, in 1957... INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
