TO A MOLLUSC, WITH LOVE


Oceans bear testimony to the fact that we are all connected. Nature absorbs all that we do, however insignificant, responding in ways best known to her...

With a close friend of mine suggesting that I watch the 2020 documentary film "My Octopus Teacher", did just that today...

It was an engrossing 85 minutes of wonderfully explained marine habitat of a mollusc. In the end I came to know of the "Sea Change Project."...

Taking the Shakespearean term "sea change", alluding to it's capacity of transformation of things beyond recognition, Craig Foster, the South African documentary filmmaker and naturalist, founded the above Cape Town based nonprofit Trust along with scientists, journalists and filmmakers to relay the wonders of the Great African Sea Forest...

One can't help admire Foster's handling of the theme of a marine creature born to live fast and depart early. The depiction of true love which does really exist, which is unstoppable and mighty if one decides to put mind and soul into it, no matter how tiny one is, the key being to keep floating trustfully in the huge waters of the oceans...

I strongly recommend watching the documentary to those who haven't as yet...

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
