PERCEPTION
Came across the attached picture message this morning. Neither am I a follower, nor do I understand his philosophy, but am not averse to reading Rajneesh's sermons and POVs. In fact, in the early 90s, I had an acquaintance of mine who failed in his attempt to evince my interest via an OSHO Times gift subscription for a year, which I didn't renew...
While it may be possible to agree with his views on divinity, individuality, freedom, others' opinions, peace and tranquility, YOLO (You Only Live Once) etc., I couldn't quite understand his motto of "To avoid pain, they avoid pleasure. To avoid death, they avoid life.”...
The "they" I suppose is "we mere mortals." Life for Rajneesh was embracing both pleasure and pain. Probably ahead of his times, his offbeat views did encounter some waiting period to find some acceptance, to a rank above than just a mere motivational public speaker, before he passed away under mysterious circumstances on the 19th of January 1990 in Pune, India...
In my opinion, whatever you do or believe in, within the realms of righteousness, do them wholeheartedly. In this way one would find everything under one's disposal - attitude, mind, body and spirit - combining with relative ease and zeal to realize one's objectives...
Just as clay can be mere dirt in the wrong hands, it can be a wonderfully delectable art material in the right ones. The same would apply to knowledge, power and wealth and so on, all of which we possess, endowed with or acquired, in varying proportions...
Just as the saying goes that protecting our feet with slippers is far more easier than to carpet the whole surface, it would be worthwhile if we could mould all the attributes that we possess for a more peaceful and prosperous world order...
