WELCOME SEPTEMBER 2023


Today's dawn ushered us all into the first of the "Ber" months, a term that I happened to come across recently. "Ber" months are simply the last four months of the year, all of them with the suffix "ber."...🙂

Philippines observes 1st September as an important day to begin countdown to, and preparations for, Christmas. With the weather getting cooler midnight masses, social gatherings, entertainment programmes, delicacies, shopping, decorations and Carols find their rightful places in these 'ber' months...

September has historically seen several changes in both time and place, from Roman, Julian to Gregorian calendars. Being associated with Vulcan the Roman god of Fire, September brings along sparkling ideas with it's Morning Glory flower and Sapphire gemstone...

Adolf Hitler had invaded Poland this day in 1939 (1st September) to usher in the WW2, and September 11 in the not too distant past (2001) changed the shape of the world forever, the aftermaths of which are still being experienced globally...

September is home to several observances such as Labour Day, Rosh Hashanah, Patriot Day, Grandparents Day to name a few. While students begin their new academic year, the time is ripe for the year’s harvest celebrations in many regions of the world...

With the world providing infinite opportunities and possibilities, there isn't anything really that one cannot attempt. For instance, our solar mission is to be launched tomorrow, 2nd September 2023. However on a different note, prioritization of one's goals is essential, lest one gets burnt out trying to do everything...

While we await Teacher's Day and
the Lord Ganesha festival later in the month, here's wishing you all a Spirited September 2023... 😊

WORLD BRAIN DAY

22nd of July is observed as World Brain Day since 2014. The day was chosen during the 21st World Congress of Neurology held in Vienna on September 22, 2013 under the aegis of World Federation of Neurology, which incidentally was also formed on 22 July, in 1957... The day aims to educate people regarding brain health, to help people afflicted with neurological disorders, and to the furtherance of research and advances in therapies and prevention... INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
