INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NON-VIOLENCE

The combined efforts of Iran's Nobel Laureate Shirin Ebadi and the government of India from 2004 bore fruit as UNGA in 2007 declared Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary as International Day of Non-Violence...

Gandhi believed that non-violence is the weapon of the strong, a force of love capable of putting even the powers of an atom bomb into shade...

Non-violence has been in existence since long as an ideology. It could be said of Gandhi that here came a person, after the tumultuously violent 18th and 19th centuries, to stand up against tyranny and restore faith in humanity, beginning with his crusade against apartheid in South Africa followed by the Indian independence movement...

Essentially based on the spirituality of man, the principle of non-violence is the core of all preachings of all faiths, an attitude of courage to being righteous in the interests of truth and justice, without causing hurt to others...

When one stands for the beautiful truth, one pursues the divine. Be adherent to this, and everything would fall into place. Neither fret and fume, nor get unduly carried away by the happenings around. For no one has got out of this place alive...

Give peace all the chances possible. In general, one would find three types of people - those who helped, who left, and those who put you in difficult times. Increase the first, minimize the second and eliminate the last. The ultimate goal of human progress is the reverent recognition of the Creator and respecting the existence of everything in this universe...

The ignorant sneer at non-violence, the intelligent admire it, while great souls practise it in the earnest hope to leave the world a little better than what they had inherited...

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NON-VIOLENCE  🕊🕊 🌍
