Franz Anton Beckenbauer, the German football legend, as a player, coach and an official, passed away on Sunday, 7th January 2024, Salzburg, Austria...

Munich born Franz led Bayern Munich to four Bundesliga and DFB Cup titles, UEFA European Cup three times, and with New York Cosmos to three North American Soccer League titles...

The fleet-footed defender with a remarkable agility to switch between defence and attack, Franz's leadership on the field earned him the nickname "Der Kaiser" during his playing days...

Inarguably one of the greatest ambassadors of the game, the 1974 FIFA World Cup winning captain Franz's contributions to the sport could be said to be second to none. Playing 103 games for West Germany with 14 goals and 173 goals from 1338 matches in just under 2 decades (1964-1983) Franz's record for a defender is certainly outstanding...

Franz won the Ballon d’Or twice and the German Footballer of the Year four times, FRG Player of the Century and three highest honours of the Order of Merit...

Team partners, when they played together for the New York Cosmos, the two legends nurtured a beautiful and rare friendship throughout their lives. November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
