WORLD EARTH DAY
It was Senator Gaylord Nelson who proposed the idea, post the Santa Barbara oil spill in 1969, in an era when industrial progress took precedence over environmental concerns, leading to rampant air and water pollution. There are countless ways for us to observe this day. Planting trees, clean-up drives of litter and plastic waste from public places, educational seminars on renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, environmental hygiene, minimalistic efforts of usage of resources - reduce, reuse, recycle - etc...
We all have our responsibility of taking care of our home, Earth. Let us celebrate the beauty of our magnanimous planet, and together pledge to reduce our carbon footprints, and to preserve our environment in our fight for a cleaner, healthier planet for all future generations to come...
