There goes a saying that one begins to think straight when one's thoughts get hazy and bizarre. It's failure could perhaps be the precursor to someone being done with life. With potential perils of negativity and criticism, suicide is a challenging topic to write about...
We live just once. Agreed that suicide is a sure way to end suffering or pain; yet, what drives one to it could remain baffling. While improper to judge the deceased, it could be worth thinking about why it occurred. Cowardice, insanity, addiction, failures, terminal illness, stigma, psychosis, jilted love, depression etc. could all be possibilities crossing minds...
That said, what does it take to end one's life? Is about being so hopelessly hopeless that one ceases to think straight, unable to find that saving glimmer of hope. As the event is a culmination, warning signs certainly may have been ignored by those around. I believe it takes a lot of courage to decide to bring an end to oneself...
We as humans ought to empathize with the predicament of the family and friends of the deceased, who are left behind to grieve, for eternity. Which underlines the importance of being connected, with family, friends and communities. Social interactions, social service, charity, and things that elevate one's morale are activities favouring rational thinking in those susceptible...
While suicidal thoughts could occur to anyone, people who end their lives may not have necessarily wanted to. For total lack of options, or a thought block, didn't know what else to do. They must have yearned for help, which failed to arrive...
