THE JOY OF GIVING
Happened to see the attached quote by Jim Rohn this morning. In this connection, earlier on, I had read somewhere that -
"The happiest people are the givers, not the takers."...
A wonderful and lovable line undoubtedly to my mind, but surely I would face some stiff opposition. For, it may not always be easy to adhere to, let alone instilling the idea into others...
Reminded me of the quote by Harold S. Kushner, which I had mentioned here a couple of years ago - "Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are."
Life, our Creator's one time gift, comes with an expiry date, the secrecy of which is maintained till the end. Each one of us stays here for a while, with or without taking the next dawn for granted...
Life being adept at giving reasons to cry, the onus is on us to change them into smiles. Certainly, each one of us by God's grace must have been fortunate to experience the joy of giving at some point in time. While one could give only what one has, underpromising and overdelivering should be the motto to avoid disillusionments...
The simplest, yet the most effective gift one could offer is that 'facial curve', the smile, which cuts across all barriers whatsoever, to exude all positivities possible...
Time always being right for the right thing, it is also the best gift in the world one could ever offer, for that moment of your life is gone forever...
Enjoying a meal with others is another way to acknowledge people in one's life, and certainly worth the efforts to enhance intimacy and warmth...
While giving in any form ensure to take off the cloak of haughtiness if any, for it isn't easy to know whether one is actively sharing, or paying off a previous debt in accordance with one's Karmic cycle...
My only cause for concern occurred when I came across another statement which read thus -
"If you are a giver, please learn your limits because some takers don't have any."
Though sounding a bit uncharitable, it is certainly a point to note...
Nevertheless, I still believe that the act of selfless giving ultimately leads to the realization that it is precisely this which is the key to happiness, something that each one of us yearns for...
So then, strive to be an unconditional giver... 😊😊
