WELCOME DECEMBER 2024



Marking the beginning of the end of a year's story, December brings along birthstones of Turquoise and Blue Zircon, and the birth flower Narcissus. December 1st is WORLD AIDS DAY too...

With it's cool winds ushering in a thoughtful space in preparation for successes in the coming fresh year, December invokes the warm sweaters, cardigans and woollen caps to fill the air with festive spirits...

A month to enjoy every moment of to finish off what was started with the hope that wishes come true as we near that demarcating line of sorts on December's final day, the current year becoming history...

In addition to Christmas, December in India encompasses the various events of fine arts like Konark, Kurukshetra, Chennai, Shantiniketan and many across the country with all it's colours. Family bondings and kids in holiday mood making merry at decorated malls with Santa's gifts, fill December with all the positive vibes for the arrival of the new year, with happiness palpable in the air...

While it is said that snow and kindness beautify everything that they cover albeit every mile seemingly two in winter, December being thus famed for peace, unity, forgiveness, charity etc., let us offer our special prayers for the prevalence of wiser counsels in conflict zones...

Hope December prepares us all to give the current year a fitting send off, and to welcome the brand new year as we cross that virtual line at the stroke of New Year's Eve's midnight...

WORLD BRAIN DAY

22nd of July is observed as World Brain Day since 2014. The day was chosen during the 21st World Congress of Neurology held in Vienna on September 22, 2013 under the aegis of World Federation of Neurology, which incidentally was also formed on 22 July, in 1957... The day aims to educate people regarding brain health, to help people afflicted with neurological disorders, and to the furtherance of research and advances in therapies and prevention... INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
