WORLD WATER DAY 2025



The UN in it's conference of Environment and Development in 1992 began the first World Water Day, this day in 1993. It reminds us of our pledge to save water for our future generations, in accordance with the UN's SDGs by 2030...

Protecting frozen water resources for the future is the theme for 2025 -
"Glacier Preservation."

Essential for life, glaciers have been seen to be shrinking over the last two decades. It doesn't augur well, upsetting the water cycle, with floods, landslides and ecosystem damage looming large...

Concerted global efforts are needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to keep our glaciers out of harm's way for the planet's longevity. UN has declared 2025 as the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation to that effect...

One of the most important of natural resources with innumerable utility value and the foundation of all lives, be it marine, avian or terrestrial, water though abundant, is limited. Being nonrenewable we ought to be judicious in all aspects lest we risk mismanaging this finite resource...

Shortage of natural resources is always a possibility with an ever rising population. Water shortage and polluted water intake have it's own health hazards. Quite a number countries of the world are facing water shortage even as I write this...

The human race would not last in a world without water.  First, the vegetation will diminish, the greenery will die, different seasons will stop. Aquatic and avian lives will become extinct. And finally, without water, the entire planet would perish...

WORLD BRAIN DAY

22nd of July is observed as World Brain Day since 2014. The day was chosen during the 21st World Congress of Neurology held in Vienna on September 22, 2013 under the aegis of World Federation of Neurology, which incidentally was also formed on 22 July, in 1957... The day aims to educate people regarding brain health, to help people afflicted with neurological disorders, and to the furtherance of research and advances in therapies and prevention... INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
