Born on 14 April 1891 in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, to Smt. Bhimabai and Subedar Ramji Maloji Sakpal, Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar came to be known fondly and popularly as "Babasaheb."...

The brilliant academician that he was, he went on to obtain a law degree followed by doctorates for his research in law, economics and political science...

To mention few positions amongst the innumerable ones that Babasaheb held, he was British India's Minister of Labour in Viceroy's Executive Council. He became the 1st Law Minister of free India. As the Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee, he is considered the chief architect of the Constitution of India...

Babasaheb throughout his career continued his fight, almost singlehandedly, against the social evils. As history is witness, the path of a social reformer is invariably strewn with immense difficulties because the opposition arises from your own countrymen...

The illustrious Babasaheb breathed his last on 6 December 1956 at his home in Delhi...

For his contributions as an Indian jurist, political leader, philosopher, anthropologist, historian, orator, economist, teacher, editor, prolific writer, revolutionary and a revivalist for Buddhism in India, Babasaheb was awarded the 'Bharat Ratna' posthumously in the year 1990...

India pays homage to this great noble soul on his 69th Punyatithi...

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
