Having said that, there really aren't any provisions to deter the unscrupulous in society from violating norms for selfish ends. Right from the Nuremberg Code to child labour, discrimination and data privacy to name a few, ethical norms have gone for a toss on several occasions...
We do have our divine inner voice to guide us during our dilemmas. The essence is to not let that voice go unheard in the din. The practice of ethics, which can also be said to be a way of life of being empathic, reasonable, transparent and proactive in dealings, makes one trustworthy and reliable, with a fair sense of good samaritanism...
