INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2025



Regarded as the world's most translated milestone document, Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) got the UN ratification this day in 1948 as the International Human Rights Day became a reality...

The main objective of the day is to protect and promote the human rights of an individual. These rights include economical, social, fundamental and other rights which are to be enjoyed by every citizen of this planet regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status...

The theme for 2025 is -
“Human Rights: Our Everyday Essentials.”
It underlines the fact that human rights are the foundation for a life filled with respect, opportunity and freedom, and not just legal protections...

Equality implies embracing our diversities and interactions without discrimination, an affable social order requiring political commitment, the participation of all, specifically the most affected and the most well off, as and when needs arise...

The events of the day are directed on imparting this very message to the people, to be aware of their own human rights. It also reminds of the responsibilities of the governing authorities to the authorities, to make them accountable for any human rights violation...

There are still billions in our world who are oppressed and underprivileged, despite more and more people becoming aware of their rights. There are many who are still labeled as 'unequal.' Many still face discrimination on the basis of their caste, creed, religion, financial background, or ethnicity. Human rights day addresses the concern of such people in society and seeks to bring them to the forefront...

Observance of this day with due sincerity, both by the governmental authorities and all sections of the society, would go a long way in the prosperity of the world that we all live in...

22nd of July is observed as World Brain Day since 2014. The day was chosen during the 21st World Congress of Neurology held in Vienna on September 22, 2013 under the aegis of World Federation of Neurology, which incidentally was also formed on 22 July, in 1957... INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY

November 8th is observed as International Day Of Radiology as a tribute to the great German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for his discovery of X-Rays in 1895.. The 1845 born Nobel Laureate of 1901, Röntgen majored in Physics and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich.. Discovering X-rays accidentally while using cathode rays for images of his wife’s hand, which depicted the bones and the wedding ring, Röntgen had made a giant leap for mankind in medical diagnosis.. International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was first celebrated in the year 2012 with the combined efforts of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR)..
